Rancho Cucamonga Sustainable Action Plan
Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Description
Building on the successful, award-winning Healthy Rancho Cucamonga Strategic Plan, Raimi + Associates collaborated with the City, stakeholders, and members of the community to prepare the Sustainable Community Action Plan. The Plan serves as a roadmap for advancing environmental sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas reductions. The proposed actions focus on both citywide strategies and city operations that facilitate the integration of a healthy mind, body, and planet. The Plans charts a course for the near term and identifies long-term actions beyond 2020.
The Sustainable Community Action Plan is organized around six key topic areas: mobility, land use, energy, water, waste, and green building. Each topic area includes goals, policies, and implementation actions, which were selected, refined, and prioritized based on their health equity, economic, and sustainability benefits (triple bottom line approach). The R+A team developed a triple bottom line tool and evaluation methodology to provide a standardized process to review the proposed strategies against community priorities. The priority areas, guiding principles, and strategies in the Sustainable Community Action Plan were developed through a collaborative partnership with City staff, a Sustainability Task Force, an Interdepartmental Advisory Group, and the community.
