Raimi + Associates served as the LEED Green Rater for Rolland Curtis Gardens – a transit-oriented affordable residential community in South Los Angeles. Led by the developer Abode Communities and land steward T.R.U.S.T. South LA, the project comprehensively redeveloped a dilapidated apartment complex to provide 140 new affordable units in a neighborhood at risk of gentrification and displacement. The project’s integration of transportation programming makes it a national model of sustainable development. The integrated design process, the transit served location, energy efficiency, good ventilation, and healthy materials contributed to the project earning LEED-ND Platinum certification.
