CAPtivate: A Healthy Western Riverside County

Western Riverside County, CA

Description

Raimi + Associates worked with WRCOG staff, a Health Subcommittee, and the County Public Health Department to improve the health of County residents through implementation of the subregional Climate Action Plan (CAP). R+A worked with this stakeholder group to select leading health indicators related to the greenhouse gas reduction measures and establish regional targets to benchmark progress over time.

To support regional and local decision-making, R+A developed a health monitoring and assessment tool. The easy-to-use tool includes baseline data for the leading health indicators and illustrates progress towards 2020 targets at the regional and local scale. The tool also quantifies the health co-benefits of regional and local greenhouse gas reduction measures, illustrating the multiple benefits of plan implementation and providing information to support decision making by WRCOG and its members.
