R+A partnered with ESA to update the City of San Jose's groundbreaking Climate Smart San Jose Plan, which outlines the City’s greenhouse gas reduction program and sustainability efforts through 2050. This update aligns the Plan with the City’s more recent Pathway to Carbon Neutrality, which strives to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. The update also reflects additional achievements and ongoing efforts within the City including the creation of San Jose Clean Energy and integrates the newer frameworks for solid waste and natural and working lands.

 

R+A And ESA are also updating the accompanying GHG reduction model to track implementation progress and act as a scenario planning tool for the different Plan strategies. The model update also reflects updated assumptions, data, and the most recent greenhouse gas inventory.
